The Freedom Pro Rope Lead

This lead is such fantastic quality and very well designed. It's perfect for a muscular English Springer Spaniel, and especially for a smart girl who manages to pull her old lead off from her nose with her paws whilst we're walking. Not with this one however, because the sliding buckle holds the loop securely in place under her chin. The threads in the weave are smooth, and there is a slight squish when I press on the cord, so it's kind for the dog. When the dog is pulling, unlike the previous rope lead, this one has a bit of stretch, and that really helps to prevent strain on my joints. I also love the padded handle, as this is comfortable for me to hold onto, and when the dog is veering away, because it has the swivel connector, my arm isn't being yanked in her direction and it doesn't coil. I wasn't sure whether to choose the one cm width, or to go for the thicker 1.2 cm designed for larger dogs, but this was too long at 2 metres I felt for pavement walking. I think I made the correct choice with the shorter 1.5 metre length as it gives me more control over such a strong, medium size dog as I can keep her close, and in fact, the cord is plenty thick enough and very strong indeed. Everything about it is robust and tough, without compromising on comfort. It's brilliant. I expect it to last for years and years. Looking at the chewed up lead I had before, and had just become used to having, it simply doesn't compare. This one even has a reflective strip woven in to cord so that it can be seen in headlights in the dark. I appreciate the ethics, and the lack of plastic packaging too, even the tie wires were made from paper, and 10% of this brand's profits are donated to rescue charities. What's not to love?

Beyond that, I’ve been genuinely impressed with the quality of this lead.The rope feels durable and well made, and the padded handle is comfortable to hold, even on longer walks. My dog weighs around 25kg and can be a puller, but I found this lead works better than a standard lead when used as a slip neck or in a figure-8/halter-style configuration. It doesn’t completely stop pulling, but it does offer noticeably better control without feeling harsh.The swivel handle is a really useful feature. It prevents the lead from twisting and saves me from constantly having to untangle it or twist my arm back into position. The reflective stitching is a nice added safety feature for lower-light walks as well.So far, there are no signs of wear, fraying, or weak points, and everything feels solid and well finished. Assuming it holds up over time, I can see this being a long-lasting lead. Overall, I’m very impressed with both the design and the quality.

This slip rope lead is great for my 16kg French bulldog for training and is comfortable to hold for me too. It feels very sturdy and well made, quite thick so won't hurt his neck or cause any harm and it comes in an array of colours, I chose the light blue one and it's a lovely bright colour.

Great quality.Sturdy and the thickness of the collar is good, stops my Patterdale from pulling without hurting his neck.

Brilliant best slip lead I’ve ever had and that’s over 30 years, strong fittings, love the slight elastic in the rope padded hand strap just can’t say enough about the lead 100% recommend

Perfect for my 1 year old cocker spaniel. He’s always been a puller on the lead but he now has a human baby sister and needs to not pull when she’s in pram or carrier this was perfect to stop pulling.

Great value for money! Good quality. Thick material and lovely colours. Very easy to put on and fits comfortably around the muzzle. Perfect for initial training if you have a particularly energetic/pully/lungey dog. My boy could still breathe as normal and take a treat with no issues. The video attached was literally taken within 10 seconds of me switching from slip to this lead and the difference was instant. Came packaged well and as an extra bonus, the sellers donate a portion of each sale to a charity! My boy tried to pull his off once but was unsuccessful. If you want calmer, more controlled walks and can't quite grasp standard slip lead training yet.. I highly recommend as a good starting point. Oh. Added bonus, the swivel on the handle makes the least sit comfortable in your hand without having to untwist where your dog keeps changing directions. Game changer!

Amazing lead.Was allways a chore walking my dog as he allways pulled so much this lead instantly stopped that and gave me so much more control of my dog.

This rope lead feels strong and well made, with a comfortable handle that doesn’t twist while walking. The figure-8 halter is useful for no-pull training and gives better control without being harsh. The metal safety stopper adds reassurance, and the reflective stitching is a nice touch for evening walks. It’s lightweight but durable, making it suitable for regular use and training sessions.

I like this one. I have so many dog leads and this might be my favourite one yet.I very much appreciate the 8 figure ring to prevent excessive choking when the dog pulls.The lead is long, good material. easy to put on and tale off.Very well worth the money.

This is a pretty nice slip lead. It comes poorly presented or protected so doesn't look in the best condition. It does work though and looks nice enough even with the multiple scuffs and discoloured parts. Quality wise this was likely pretty perfect before it went in the box so can't really complain. For the price it's not bad value. It's easy to use and functionally does exactly as it should. It's made my pulling dog a lot easier to control. I use this alongside a regular lead to control her better. This alone and she would likely choke herself. One thing i did notice was the lack of clamp to prevent it becoming too loose. If i release the tension too much my dog can get out of this. Others i have use a plastic spring clamp to prevent this happening. This is still easy to use but it feels like a few details have been overlooked. Overall theres a lot to like and it will get used. I'm not sure i'd buy another one though if the need arised for my other dogs.

Wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I do, thought it might just be another simple lead, but it’s actually been really good so far.I’ve tried it with two out of three of my dogs and it’s become one of our go-to leads now for walks, which says a lot.I always worry about how well things like the swivel bit will hold up when trying a new lead, especially with our doberman when she pulls, but it has done really well and I trust it to keep them safe now!It feels sturdy but not stiff, and while I haven’t used the figure 8 style yet, it has worked really well as a slip lead with the secure stopper too. I've used it with both a dachshund and a doberman and the length has worked with both.The spinning handle is also soooo handy - I'm usually forever twisting the lead round, but don't have to do that with this! And the padded handle is great too.Overall, it feels like it’ll last, looks good, and I love that the brand gives back to rescue charities too - would recommend!
